John, Johnny, Jonathan, and Jon are working together to construct the tallest metal pole in the world. John can construct the pole in 60 days. Johnny can construct the pole in 24 days. Jonathan can construct the pole in 15 days. Jon can construct the pole in 12 days. Jon ragequits 2 days after they start, because Jonathan's hammer keeps hitting him in the pinkie finger. Because they are working together, they can construct the pole in x/y days. What is x+y?

As all the four are working together for 2 days. So John doing 1/60 of the pole in one day, Johnny doing 1/24 of total work. Johnathan doing 1/15 of total work. Jon doing 1/12 of work. So in one day they are doing (1/60)+(1/24)+(1/15)+(1/12)=(25/120) So in 2 days it is 50/120 = 5/12. After that Jon quits so only three are working now. work remaining is 1-(5/12)=(7/12). Now other three together can do (1/60)+(1/24)+(1/15)=(15/120)=(1/8). Now lets N be the days those three requires to complete the remaining work. So N(1/8)=(7/12) N=(14/3) Total days = 2+N = (20/3). So ans is 20+3 = 23.
