This is very badly worded, it should read, A man is walking east. What direction should he follow to avoid walking north? I only got it because I took a guess that is what the answer was relating to and by figuring out that two of the other routes point North whilst this one remains East.

Imagine the man route. He is walking towards east and the option right, left right left still lead him to the east not to the north therefore you should choose it

When we are walking toward east, right means to the south, then left means east, then right means south, then left means east again. Our intention is to the north, therefore, among three stated, this is the only fault that cannot go to the north.
