Because "Only S is taller than T", we know S must be the tallest (because if anyone is taller than S, that person will be taller than T too)

Right, this is the key sentence and picking it out is the fast way to solve the problem. Letting go of distractions is an important skill in this type of problem and EXTREMELY important in more complicated problems of logic or computer science. Good question, good answer.

1st line reveals that : S>P>O 2nd line : S>T>P>O 3rd line: S>T>P>R>Q..

So the tallest is S

Clue word: ONLY. Since no two people is standing aside we now know that he wither the tallest or the shortest. Since it says taller, then we know that S is the tallest.

If S is the only one taller than T, S is the tallest. That's why the answer is S .

You only have to look at the second statement:

Only S is taller than T. That means that S has to be the tallest, or else whoever is taller than S is also taller than T. (From this we'll also know that T is the second tallest.)

The rest of the statements don't really matter because we only care about who's the tallest.

O n l y S i s t a l l e r t h a n T Only S is taller than T tells us that S is the tallest.

It is obviously s because S is the only one taller than T which will mean that T is the second tallest and S is the tallest.

p>o and P<s and only s>t and R<P and R>Q hence the conclusion is that S is tallest of all

Answer is obviously in the third sentence. Since ONLY S is taller than T, T must be the second tallest and S will be the tallest of all.

Good answer. Note that T might be tied for second place, we don't know that it is unique "the" second tallest individual.
