26+7-1=32, so if you add 26+7=33, the rank of sanjay is repeated twice so it is to be subtracted once, the answer is 32 said SHERLOCK HOLMES.

there are 6 students in front of sanjay and there are 25 students behind him

so, total no of students=25+6+1

=26+7-1=32.
