In a classroom, the ratio of the number of boys to girls is 4 : 3 4:3 . Find the number of boys if there are 70 70 students in the classroom.

The ratio is 4:3. Assume the class has 7 people: there would then be 4 boys and 3 girls.

So: 70 = 7 * 10. Scale up by 10, and 4 boys * 10 = 40.
