The dimensions of a rectangular cuboid are x x , y y and z z . If each dimension is increased by 1 , 1, its volume increases by 25. 25. If x + y + z = 12 , x+y+z=12, what is x y + y z + z x ? xy+yz+zx?

volume of cuboid = xyz...... new volume= (x+1)(y+1)(z+1) = xyz+25............ soving it we get;............ xy+yz+zx+x+y+z+xyz+1=xyz+25.............. rearranging................ xy+yz+zx+(x+y+z)=24............... xy+yz+zx+12 =24.................. xy+yz+zx=12 Ans.
