Evaluate the following recurrence relation, G k G_k at k = 7 k=7 :

G k = G k 2 + 2 ( G k 4 ) 2 G_k= G_{k-2} + 2 (G_{k-4}) - 2

G 1 = 2 , G 2 = 1 , G 3 = 4 , G 4 = 1 G_1= 2, \hspace{5 mm} G_2= -1, \hspace{5 mm} G_3= 4, \hspace{5 mm}G_4= 1

G(7) = G(5) + 2G(3) - 2 = 6 + 2 * 4 - 2 = 12(Ans.)

Just find G 5 G_5 , then find G 7 G_7 .
