Tarquin Woodsorrel Hare is attending Redwall's Midsummer's Feast! When the feast starts, there are 100 plates laid out just for him because everyone knows that he is very gluttonous. Tarquin eats every third plate of food and starts with plate 1. (Every plate has a number starting from 1 and goes to 100.) For example, he eats 1, 4, 7, etc, until he gets to 100, and then he eats 5, 9, 14, 18, 23, etc. At the end, there are two plates left. What is the absolute value of the difference between the numbers on the plates?

The plates that are left are 56 and 89. 89 - 56 = 33.
