Remember torques?

A hollow shaft has an inner diameter of 0.035 m and an outer diameter of 0.06 m. Compute the torque (In N*m) if the shear stress is not to exceed 120 Mpa.

The answer is 4500.

For hollow shafts: use the formula 16TD/(pi(D^4-d^4))=S(shearing) where D=outer diameter, d=smaller diameter T= torque.
