there is a specific method to get the right ans: we break the date in terms of ODD DAYS..1 ordinary year has 1 odd day and a leap year has 2.for eg= 100 years has 5 odd days..so now we have to get to Jan 26..so we have 1600+300+49..and will have 0,1,5 odd days rest.(300 years has 1 odd day) and also in 26 days of Jan..we have 5 odd days.( simply divide 26 by 7 the remainder is ur odd days) SO TOTAL odd days =0+1+5+5=11..again divide 11 by 7 we have 4 as remainder and as the odd days ..which is THURSDAY as u will have to start counting from Sunday( as first Jan 1 AD was a Monday i.e. Sunday= 0 odd day and so on) ..............so ans is THURSDAY
