Assume the 2 forces as vectors. Using resultant law of Vectors: R=√ a² + b² + 2abcosǾ cos is the minimum anti-clockwise angle between 2 vectors, hence:- R=√64 + 100 + 2 8 10*1 [ as cos0 = 1 ] R=√324 R= 18

Since both the forces are acting on the body in the same direction so they will enhance each others effect, hence we add their magnitudes 8+10=18 N

You add up the two forces....

so the answer is 18 N 18N
