Reversible process

Chemistry Level 1

In thermodynamics, a reversible process is a process that can be "reversed" by means of infinitesimal changes in some property of the system without entropy production (i.e. dissipation of energy). A process that is not reversible is called irreversible. Which of the following is a reversible process?

a) The rusting of iron nails when exposed to moisture.

b) A lump of sugar being melt in coffee.

c) The combustion propane gas (C 3 _3 H 8 _8 ) producing carbon dioxide and water.

d) The uniform mixing of ink drops in water.

Recoverable to certain extend is not what it meant by reversible. According to requirements of descriptions, none of the process can be reversed via the same path while no energy dissipation is allowed.
