In this right angled triangle, we have the opposite ( O O ) and adjacent ( A A ) side of angle x x .

By basic trigonometry, we know that tan x = O A = 6 8 = 3 4 \tan x = \frac{O}{A} = \frac{6}{8} = \frac{3}{4}

So:

x = tan 1 ( 3 4 ) = 36.87 x = \tan^{-1}(\frac{3}{4}) = 36.87

The correct answer should be 37°
