Rocket Time!!

Using the ideal rocket equation below what is the rocket exhaust velocity of a rocket with: a change in velocity of 10.1153708699, an initial mass of 20 and a final mass of 6.5.

  • Ve=exhaust velocity
  • dV=change in velocity
  • Mi=mass initial
  • Mf=Mass final
5.43 9 8 8.675 7 9.099

It is basic algebra. Take the natural log of (mi/mf) and divide that by 10.1153708699 and you get 9.
