Total baskets of mangoes= 1230; baskets of Rotten mangoes= 30; remaining good ones 1230-30=1200 baskets in third truck= 5/(3+4+5) * 1200 = 500
plus 15 baskets of rotten mangoes. So total 500+15= 515 :)

Another explanation:

Once unloaded, in the trucks I, II and III, there are 1230 ( 5 + 10 + 15 ) = 1200 1230 - (5+10+15) = 1200 good baskets in ratio 3 : 4 : 5 3:4:5 . Written as an equation:

3 x + 4 x + 5 x = 1200 3x + 4x + 5x = 1200

and solving for x x , we get

12 x = 1200 x = 100 12x = 1200 \\ x = 100

So, after unloading, in the trucks I, II and III remain 300 300 baskets, 400 400 baskets and 500 500 baskets of good mangoes, respectively. Now we add the rotten’ baskets to get the original number of baskets, and we are done.

For the third truck: 500 500 good baskets + 15 + 15 rotten baskets = 515 = 515 baskets.
