An elf typically gets paid $ 64 \$64 . Overtime is $ 12 \$12 per hour. We see that the amount of money that an elf makes in the week leading to Christmas is $ ( 8 8 + 4 12 ) 7 ) \$(8*8+4*12)*7) . Thus, the elves make $ 784 \$784 !

that's much better

normal week wages = hour wage * work hours * seven days of the week = 8 * 8 * 7=448$

week before Christmas wages = normal week wages + over time wages = normal week wages + (normal wage * 1.5 ) * (over time ) * ( the seven days of the week ) = 448 + (8 * 1.5) * 4 * 7 = 448 + 336 = 784$

So . the answer is 784

that is another way to solve it

The total wage = Minimum Wage + Overtime Wage Minimum wage = (No. of hours worked)(Fixed Rate) = 8(8) = 64 Overtime wage = (No. of hours worked)(Rate of overtime pay)(Fixed Rate) = 4(1.5)(8) = 48

Total wage for 7 days = 7(Minimum wage + overtime wage) = 7(64+48) = 7(112) = 784 dollars.

great !

Regular wage for the week = ($8 8) 7= $448 ; Overtime worked everyday = 12 - 8= 4 hours.

Overtime wage for each hour = 1.5* $8 = $12

Overtime wage for the week = (12 4) 7 = $336

therefore, total wage for the week = $336+ $448 = $ 784

OVERTIME WAGE = 12$ PER HOUR(8 1.5)WHICH IS 4 HOURS A DAY FOR A WEEK. THAT CALCULATES TO 336$ . NORMAL WAGE =(8 8*7)= 448$ TOTAL= 448+336$=784$

8$ multiply by the 8 regular hours multiply by 7 days plus 1.5 multiply by 8$ then multiply to 4 for the extra overtime hours then multiply again to 7 days which is equal to 784$

first multiply the salary in the normal working day (8 * 8) = 64, then multiply that by how many days working (64 * 7) = 448. second find how long overtime hours (12-8) = 4. looking for every hour of overtime salary (8 * 1.5) = 12. then multiply it by a long overtime hours overtime (4 * 12) = 48. and multiply it by how many days working (48 * 7) = 336 last. totalizing (448 +336) = 784 the answer is 784first multiply the payment with

7 [(8 8)+(8 1.5 4)]=784

on regular days.. elves receives 64 dollars... the problems is just on the overtime wages... it takes 8 dollars multiplied by 1.5... then multiplied by four being 4 is the overtime hours.. we have (8 8)+((8 1.5)*4) = 784

In the week leading up to Christmas, Santa pays the elves $64 for the first 8 hours of each day. The last 4 hours of the day, Santa pays them $12 per hour. 12*4=48 so Santa pays 64+48 per day. If Santa pays $112 per day, then he will pay $784 for 7 days.
