Solution:

There are 14 people on board originally, and 10 get on at the first stop. Thus there are 14 + 10 = 24 14 + 10 = 24 people on board just after the first stop.

Its really simple addition and Simple context clues. The questions specifically asks you only about the first stop, this is really where context clues come into play. It states that there were 14 on board at the bus depot, and at the first stop ten then aborts. This really simple addition. 10+14=24

Before leaving the depot, there are 14 people. 10 people get on at the first stop. The question asks us about the no. of people on bus just after the first stop? So the solution is 14+10=24 people.
