Say goodbye to wormy apples!

In a bag of apples, 4 out of 50 contain a worm. What are the chances of picking out just 3 apples and finding they all contain a worm?

1 chance in 5000 1 chance in 4900 1 chance in 4800 1 chance in 5200 1 chance in 5400

You pick one of the four apples with worm from 50 apples, then one of the three from 49, then one of the two from 48. Hence, the probability is 4 50 × 3 49 × 2 48 = 1 4900 \frac{4}{50}\times\frac{3}{49}\times\frac{2}{48} = \frac{1}{4900}

Thank you. This is correct.
