We can notice that this is an inequality involving circles, since the equation of a circle is simply ( x h ) 2 + ( y k ) 2 = r 2 (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2 . Since ( x 2 ) 2 + y 2 2 (x-2)^2 + y^2 \ge 2 , we know that the shaded region must be outside of the interior of the circle. The only letter that matches that diagram is B \boxed{ \textbf{B} } , so we're done.
