I need not explain method A as the link is obvious. For B, Sunday and Monday are isolated as Sunday was named after the Sun and Monday after the moon by the ancient Greeks. Neither the sun nor moon are planets. Tuesday to Saturday are grouped together because they were named after the 5 planets visible to humans from Earth, namely:

  • Tuesday - Mars

  • Wednesday - Mercury

  • Thursday - Jupiter

  • Friday - Venus

  • Saturday - Saturn

This is more apparent in French, intrestingly enough.

Lundi \rightarrow Lune (Moon)

Mardi \rightarrow Mars

Mercredi \rightarrow Mercury

Jeudi \rightarrow Jupiter

Vendredi \rightarrow Venus

Samedi \rightarrow Saturn

Dimanche (Sunday) is the only exception.
