The terms of the sequence are numbers in base 3 with digits +1, abbreviated + , zero, and -1, abbreviated -.

The first five terms of the sequence translated into base 10 are 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

The 15th term is 20, which in base 3 with positive and negative digits is + + +-+- , so the second and third symbols are + \boxed{-+} .
