  • Find the perimeter of a circle with the knowledge that the approximation of pi is 3.14 and the diameter is 6.
  • Find the area of a trapezoid with the knowledge that the height of the trapezoid is 5, the top side is 6, and the bottom side is 9.
  • Find the perimeter of a right triangle, where side a is 1 inch smaller than side b, and side b = 4 in. Hint: Use the Pythagorean theorem.

The answer is the product of all three of the upper problems.

B.T.W: Sorry that I didn't include triangles in the notes but I'll post the equation in the solution!

The answer is 3532.5.

  • Circle: 3.14 x 6 = 18.84
  • Trapezoid: 9 + 6/2 x 5 = 37.5
  • Triangle: 3 to the power of 2 + 4 to the power of 2 = 5 to the power of 2 which is 25 ad then divided by 5 = 5
  • Answer: 18.84 x 37.5 x 5 = 3532.5 .

How to find the perimeter of a triangle (beginner's level): Remember the triangle int eh problem, this is how you calculate it: 3 x 3 (or 3 to the power of 2) + 4 x 4 (or 4 to the power of 2) = 25 and since that is 5 to the power of 2, the answer is 5.

The perimeter of the triangle is 3 + 4+ 5 = 12, not 5, which is just the length of the hypotenuse.
