SHM principle is 1. The motion has it's acceleration always towards the mean/equilibrium postion ....or toward increasing x - displacement from equilibrium. 2. The magnetude of the acceleration is directly proportional to the displacement x SINCE FORMULAE ARE DERIVED FROM PRINCIPLES ... a= -w^2x
