Try take an example number set for a,b,c,d such that they are in Harmonic Progression. Easiest such example is 1,1,1,1. Now substitute values and you will find only 3ad makes sense.

This solution is more value putting then putting any logic to question.

Shivang. I believe in making Math fun and easy. What I did was not to undermine the question but the easiest approach for the question you framed. You edit the question i.e. change options or make it non MCQ and then people like me will look at it as needed. Never utilise more resources than needed to solve a problem is my approach.

I agree with Naresh,I myself solved it the same way.The other way is a bit tedious
