Is it simple?

Chemistry Level 3

Assertion : Potassium permanganate is a diamagnetic substance.

Reason : in potassium permanganate, the manganese is in + 7 +7 oxidation state.

both assertion and reason are correct and reason is proper explanation to assertion both assertion and reason are incorrect assertion is incorrect but reason is correct both assertion and reason are correct but reason is not the explanation to assertion

the answer might seem to be wrong...but potassium permanganate is temperature dependent paramagnetic substance, which can be explained on the basis of molecular orbital theory

That was good to know :-)
