Alex has many socks in his drawer. There are only blue socks, purple socks and black socks.

Alex performs the following operation:

  • take out 2 socks
  • put back one sock
  • take out 3 socks
  • put back 2 socks
  • take out 2 socks

What's the probability Alex has a matching pair of socks?

The answer is 1.000.

Alex pulls out 4 socks (in the end) and has 3 types of colored socks, so the probability is 1.
