The main difficulty of this question is interpreting what the question means but I think it means what is a b × b c \frac{a}{b} \times \frac{b}{c} ? to which the answer is a c \boxed{\frac{a}{c}} but I must say the question is badly written

No, the question meant 'if a divides b and b divides c'
