Smart & greedy pirates

There were 5 pirates, let's call them A B C D & E. All 5 pirates are very witty and greedy and think only about only themselves!!! ( sound familiar to Jack Sparrow!? )

Once they rob 100 gold coins. And now they want to share it among themselves. But here is the thing. Pirates are ranked from A at top and E at the bottom. So pirate A gets first, the chance to make proposal on how to split the number of coins among them. But he need to be careful. That's because whatever proposal he makes, majority of them should not disagree. If they disagree to his proposal then he will be thrown out into deep sea( death). Upon his death it gives opportunity to pirate B to make proposal. Same rule continues to him as well. Pirate B should not get majority of ppl against him, to save his life. This will continue further.if B dies then C gets turn. If C dies then D gets turn to make the split.

Now keeping in mind the fact that all pirates wants to live, are greedy and want to earn most number if coins and they are very smart... Tell me how can Pirate A propose to share the coins so that he gets Maximum number of gold coins.
