So little information, yet so much information

Logic Level 3

Three best friends--Lina, Lisa, and Lila--were each given a distinct assignment by their teacher. They only know the topics of their assignments--history, geography, and art--but they are not aware of the topic of each of the others' assignments.

Then the following conversation takes place:

Lina: "Without directly giving away my topic, I will only say that the topic that was assigned to me isn't history."

Lisa: "I'm sorry, that isn't helpful at all. Can you give me another hint instead?"

Then unbeknownst to us, either Lina or Lila interjects: "Alright, with these two comments given, I'm able to tell everyone's assigned topic."

If everyone is perfectly logical and speaks the truth, can we as the reader determine who made this assertion?

Yes, it is Lisa who made this assertion This is an impossible scenario Yes, it is Lina who made this assertion No, we can't know who made this assertion

Lisa says that she is no better with the hint given by Lina. So we now know that Lina's assignment is history else she would have found out everybody's assignment as she will get to know that Lila has history, she has another subject and Lina has the remaining. Thus both Lima and Lila could have found out the answer similarly. So we cannot say who is the person who made this assertion.

Yeah, although there is kind of an error in the options since it includes Lisa and Lina but Lila isn't even an option, even though the question asks if it was Lila or Lina.
