If it takes 336 /g of energy to melt 1 g of ice, then it took 336*50 or 16800 J to melt 5 g of ice in 35 seconds. Hence, it took 16800/35 J/s or 480 watts to melt 5 g of ice. 48 watts/ 30 Ohms= 16 Amp^2. or 4 Amp.
