Mean of 11 observations is 17.5 . If one observation value 15 is deleted , then the mean of remaning observations is.

Can you tell me How to do this ?:)

Let the sum be x.

X÷11=17.5

So, x=11×17.5=192.5

Now, x-15=192.5-15=177.5

We are left with 10 numbers.

So, the mean will be 177.5÷10=17.75

Let the sum of 11 observation be x

=>x/11 = 17.5

=>x=17.5 x 11

But given the observation 15 is deleted, so there will be 10 observation

So x=17.5 x 11-15 / 10

=>x=17.75

therefore the mean of remaining observations is 17.75
