Here are the steps to solving this equation: 15 x − 2 = 28 15x - 2 = 28

15 x − 2 + 2 = 28 + 2 15x - 2 + 2 = 28 + 2

15 x = 30 15x = 30

15 x 15 = 30 15 \frac{15x}{15} = \frac{30}{15}

x = 2 x = 2

transpose negative 2 to the right side of the equation making it

15x=28+2

15x=30

x=2

therefore, x is equal to 2.
