As always, there are infinitely many sequences that satisfy the given conditions, but we are looking for the simplest one that results in one of the answers given. It took me a while to find the pattern this time, but it is f ( n ) = n ! + 2 n . f(n) = n! + 2n. This satisfies the given values, and f ( 4 ) = 24 + 8 = 32 f(4) = 24 + 8 = \boxed{32}

Note that n ! + 2 n = n ( ( n 1 ) ! + 2 ) , n! + 2n = n((n-1)! + 2), so you could solve it with that function as well, but it is identical to the one I used.
