Something Tricky!!!!

Three blocks P,Q,R are connected by in-extensible strings passing through smooth pulleys as shown int the Figure. At an instant of observation , if the velocity of Q is twice that of P and is along same direction,then the velocity of R is

twice and along that of Q four times and opposite to that of P five times and along that of P thrice and opposite to Q

Take center of P1 as origin. Now relate the coordinates of P2, P, Q, R with the string lengths and differentiate.

let the block R has velocity v1 in direction of P and S. T v + T 2 2 v + T 2 v 1 = 0 Tv\quad +\quad \frac { T }{ 2 } 2v\quad +\frac { T }{ 2 } v1\quad =0 v 1 = 4 v \Rightarrow v1=-4v
