Spare Tyre Problem

I am travelling in my car to reach the picnic spot, with a spare tyre , such that each tyre can travel a distance of 20 KMs . What is the maximum distance I can travel , by using all the tyres(including the spare tyre) ?

Since each tyre can travel 20kms, the total distance traveled by all tyres combined will be 20x5 = 100kms.

But at one time 4 tyres will be used...hence distance traveled by car is 100/4 = 25kms

Another explanation can be:

Let tyres be named as A, B, C, D, E

First 5kms: ABCD

Next 5: ACDE

Next 5: ABDE

Next 5: ABCE

Next 5: BCDE

This way we notice that all tyres are used up for 20kms each and total distance is 25kms.
