We can use the formula: v = d t v=\dfrac{d}{t} where: v = s p e e d ; t = t i m e v=speed;t=time and d = d i s t a n c e d=distance

Convert first 8 8 minutes to hours and that is 8 60 \dfrac{8}{60} hours.

Substitute:

45 = t 8 60 45=\dfrac{t}{\frac{8}{60}}

d = 6 k m \boxed{d=6~km}

A total hour is 60 minutes. He runs 8 minutes of an hour so,
8 60 \frac{8}{60} x 45 1 \frac{45}{1}

then we can simplify: 8 4 \frac{8}{4} x 3 1 \frac{3}{1}

= 24 4 \frac{24}{4}

= 6

If the man travels 45km in 60min,then distance covered in 8min should be 8*45/60=6km. (by cross multiplying)
