Consider the lens equation.

1 p + 1 q = 1 f \frac1p + \frac1q = \frac1f

Rearrange for q.

q = p f p f q = \frac{p-f}{pf}

For a negative f , f, q p |q|\leq p always, so the image may never be larger.

But It is a Mirror, why lens formula is used?
