Square A B C D ABCD is drawn such that A A and B B are on the circumference of a circle and side D C DC is tangent to that circle. If the radius of this circle is 1, what is the side length of this square ?. If the answer is in the form of a b \frac{a}{b} express your answer as a + b a+b .

1 = ( a 2 ) 2 + ( a 1 ) 2 1=\left(\frac a2\right)^2+(a-1)^2

Solution: a = 8 5 a=\frac85

Answer: 8 + 5 = 13 8+5=\boxed{13}
