$-\sqrt{x}=3-1$

$-\sqrt{x}=2$

$-\sqrt{x}^2=2^2$

$x = 4$

Checking:

$1-\sqrt{4}=3$

$1-2=3$

$-1 \ne 3$

$∴$ There are no solutions.
