If x 2 x = 3 x-\sqrt{\dfrac 2x}=3 , what is the value of x 2 x x-\sqrt{2x} ?

Solving the given equation we get x=2+√3. (The other two values of x don't satisfy the equation). Therefore the value of x-√(2x) is 1.

Good.But is there another way except solving it?
