Sticks

Logic Level pending

You have two sticks and a lighter. Each stick takes exactly an hour to burn from one end to the other. The sticks are not identical and do not burn at a constant rate.As a result, two equal lengths of the stick would not necessarily burn in the same amount of time.

Can you measure exactly 45 minutes using these sticks and lighter?

First light stick 1 on both sides and sick 2 on one side Stick 1 will be burnt out fully at 30 minutes and now light the other end of stick 2 Stick 2 will be burnt out fully at 45 minutes.

The 'doesn't burn at constant rate' is confusing, but once you light the stick on both ends, the stick always burns out after 30 minutes. And the other one burns out at,1/2 the time taken to burn the remaining stick, which is 15 minutes. Great answer.
