One of my teachers has just shattered a piece of silly putty with a sledgehammer. Why did this work? Note that this is normal silly putty, not some special silly putty.
My teacher trained his arms for a week
My teacher pushed the silly putty and compacted it to make it harder and easier to shatter
It Didn't work
My teacher deformed it quickly, and the silly putty couldn't deal with it so it shattered
