since the answers are displayed in seconds, i need to convert 4 minutes to seconds which is (4 X 60) or 240 seconds. The correct answer would have to be (240 / 5). but without pen and paper or calculators, i have to use my little brain only but then was too lazy to mental-calculate, Since I don't know the exact answer figure, i do know 250/5 is 50. Hence 240/5 must be slightly less so 48 presents itself as the closest answer. This is a lazy and rather quick way.
First we need to convert 4 min of time in to seconds . 60 x 4 = 240, then 240 / 5 = 48 sec.
this look simple but deeply
yes it is48
4 minutes = 6 0 × 4 = 240 seconds
Brian can solve the problem in 5 1 of 240 seconds.
Doing the math: 5 2 4 0 = 48 seconds.
if alex slove the problem 4 min and brian slove the problem is 1/5 time of alex. x=1/5(4*60) x=48 sec
1/5 min=0.80 min=.80*60=48 second
1/5 * 4/1 = 4/5
60/5 = 12, 12*4 = 48
Thus 4/5 of a minute is 48 seconds.
All you have to do is read and follow instructions the first person did it in 4 mins the instructions then said that Brian did it on one fifth of the time 1\5 ×4\1 and you get 4/5 then you have to find the time that Brian solved it so 4/5 of 60 and the answer is 48 By the way I am actually thirteen I only se t my account like this cause I didn't know the age restriction
So basically first you find out how many seconds is 4 minutes. 4*60 equals 240 seconds. Next you divide 240 by 5.
It takes Alex 4 minutes to solve a prblm I.e.240 seconds nd brain 1/5 times of Alex I.e.240/5 =48 seconds
Alex can solve the problem in 4 minutes or 4X60 seconds = 240 Seconds
Brian can solve the same problem in 1/5 times that of the time taken by brian.
Mathematically : Time take by Brian = 1/5 (Time taken by Alex)
T = 1/5 (240) = 48 sec
firstly think what time does Alex needed 4*60=240 now just divide the time by 5 as Brian need five time less then Alex so 240/5=48
There are two ways to solve this problem. 4 minutes is 240 seconds, since 60 * 4 = 240. Now, to find one-fifth of 240, we can either divide 240 by 5, or multiply 240 by 0.20, as that's one-fifth converted to a decimal. The answer remains the same at 48 seconds.
1/5 x 4= 0.8 min, 0.8 x 60 = 48 sec
Time taken by Alex = 4 mins= 240 Seconds
Time taken by Brian = 1/5 * 240 Seconds
= 48 Seconds
Alex perform the job in 4 minutes = 4X60= 240 seconds, however, Brian can perform the job 1/5 of Alex time. Therefore, Brian can perform the job within 48 seconds.. Time, t = 240*1/5
First of all, we have to take out how many seconds does 4 minute equal to. After finding this, it will be equal to 240 seconds. After that we have to do according to the question that is Brian do the the sums in 1\5 of 4 minutes. So we can also write as the following:
1\5×240 =48
Therefore, the answer will be 48 seconds.
4*60 = 240
240 / 5 = 48 sec
4 min =4 60=240sec 240 1/5=48 seconds
Its very easy...just convert 4 minutes into seconds-
4*60 = 240 seconds
And then divide it by 5 because Brian takes "1/5 th of the time taken by Alex"
240/5 = 48 = Answer
4mins=240seconds and now 240 divided by 5 which is equal to 48 , so the answer is 48
Suppose that Brian"s solving time is t1 and Alex"s is t.
We know, Alex"s solving time is t=4 minutes=(4*60)seconds=240s.
So,Brian"s solving time is t1=240*1/5=48s.
4*60 = 240 240 / 5 = 48 sec
4*60= 240sec 240 sec/5 = 48 sec
4 minutes= 4*60 =240 seconds =1/5 of 240 =240/5 =48 seconds
4minutes * 60 = 240sec 240\5 = 48 sec
This is my way 1/5 4 60=48 sec
Alex time = 4minutes = 240 sec
Brian time = 240 * 1/5 = 240/5 = 48 sec
4 hour means 240 seconds.then 240*(1/5)=48
4x60=240 seconds 240/5 is 48 therefore that is the answer
4minutes = 4*60 sec= 240 sec so 1/5 of 240 is 48sec
Total time taken by Alex to solve the problem= 4x60 seconds=240 seconds. But Brian is taking only 1/5 of Alex= 240x(1/5) seconds= 48 seconds
4min* 60=240 sec, 1/5 th of 240= 1/5 *240= 80
4 min convert into sec... then 4*60=240 divide 240 with 5 240/5=48
(IN SEC) 1 min = 60 sec 4 min = (4x60) =240 sec 1/5 ott = (240/5) =48sec
in sec: answer is = 48 sec ({1/5 same as 48/[48+48+48+48+48/240]}) ({2/5 same as 96/[48+48+48+48+48/240]}) ({3/5 same as 144/[48+48+48+48+48/240]}) ({4/5 same as 192/[48+48+48+48+48/240]}) ({5/5 same as 240/[48+48+48+48+48/240]})
question ask 1/5, so its ({1/5 same as 48/[48+48+48+48+48/240]})=48 sec
(IN MIN) 1 min = 60 sec 4 min = (4x60) =240 sec 1/5 ott = (240/5) =48sec 48 sec dv by 60sec= 0.8 min
in min: answer is = 0.8 min ({1/5 same as 0.8/[0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8/4]}) ({2/5 same as 1.6/[0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8/4]}) ({3/5 same as 2.4/[0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8/4] ({4/5 same as 3.2/[0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8/4]}) ({5/5 same as 4/[0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8/4]})
question ask 1/5, so its ({1/5 same as 0.8/[0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8+0.8/4]})=0.8 min
Alex- 4 mins Brian- 1/5 of Alex time How long does it take Brian to solve the problem? 1/5 of Alex time= 48 sec in sec or 0.8 min in min#
1 min=60 sec, Alex takes=4 60=240 sec, So Brian takes= 240 (1/5)=48 sec .
4* 60= 240 240 /5 = 48 sec.
first converyt 4 min in sec that is 240 sec now dived by 5 it comes 48 sec
4*60=240 240/5=48Sec
4 * (1/5) = 4 * 0.2 = 0.8
0.8 * [1minute] = 0.8 * 60s = 48s
4 min that is 240 sec so 1/5 of his time so 240/5 =48
why do u hv to even waste time to do a division u know 5 goes into 24 , 4 times to carry on the div, there is only one option with 4 ie 48 so why waste time ,just click on 48 and carry on
4*60 and multiply it by 0.2 where 0.2 comes from 1/5
Alex can solve a problem in 4 minutes
1 minute = 60second
60(4)=240
1/5X240
240x1=240
240÷5=48second
Brian take 48 second to solve the problem
1 35 36/587*9658-8547/554914/12
4*1/5 = 0.8
0.8 *60 =48 sec
4minute x60 = 240 sec 1/5 of 4 minute is 1/5 x 240 sec = 48 sec
1 min = 60 sec , 4 min = 4*60=240 sec now time taken by brian to solve the problem =1/5 of time taken by alex= 240/5=48 sec
since the answers are displayed in seconds, i need to convert 4 minutes to seconds which is (4 X 60) or 240 seconds.
Converting minute into second. So
4×60=240 seconds
So brian takes 240÷5 seconds i.e 48 seconds.
change 4 minute to second.than times with 1/5
As we know that 1 minute has 60 seconds So the time taken by Alex to slove the problem is 4*60 = 240. Now as Brian solves the problem in 1/5th time of Alex. So, we can write. 240/5 = 48 seconds Therefore, time taken by Brian to solve the problem is 48 seconds
4 minute= 4*60= 240 seconds brain will solve problem in = 240(1/5) = 48 sec
1/4 of 5 minutes (i.e,)1/4(5*60)=48 sec
4*60=240 240/5=48
1/5 x 4 x 60 = 48 seconds
Nice........:)
4*60=240 sec. 240/5=80 sec.
4* (1/5) = 4/5min
(4/5) * 60 = 48 Sec
60x4 -240( 1/5) 48
Alex solved problem in 4min=4×60 sec. Brain solved in 1/5 of 4×60 seconds= 48 sec. :-D
4*60= 240 seconds 240/5=48 seconds
4*60 +240 so, 240/5 + 48 seconds
4 minutes is equal to 420 seconds 240 seconds divided by 5 (divide by ten then double it) is equal to 48 seconds. Brian takes 48 seconds to solve the problem :)
.2x4=.8x60=48

Given that the time taken by Alex to solve a problem is 4 ∗ 6 0 = 2 4 0 sec .
And Brian takes one-fifth of the time taken by Alex to solve the problem. So Brian takes 2 4 0 / 5 = 4 8 sec . □
