It was logical that 13 and 12 would be close to the centre but not sure of the mathematical reasoning. You can also extend this sequence to add 16 after the 9 (equals 25) and 17 before the 8 (also equals 25). Doesn't work for this solution for 18 - so not sure if this can be continued
