add both equations, b gets cancelled and we get a-c=2 or c-a=-2

a-b =10
or, a=b+10
and b-c = -8
or, c = b+8
so, c - a = (b+8) - (b+10) = -2

a-b+b-c=10-8

a-c=2

c-a=-2

a-b = 10, b-c = -8 If I add these equations, then I'll get..... (a-b) + (b-c) = 10 - 8 => a-c = 2 => c-a = -2
