White to move. Assuming optimal play. What is the strongest move for white to checkmate the black king in the fewest number of moves? If you believe that there is no force mate give your answer as 0 0 .

Since black have the oppostion, white must take advantage of it. The black king cannot go to g6 and e6 even without the white queen. That means any move by the white queen to the 7th rank will force the black king to retreat. So the visible strongest move is Qd7+. But Qc7+ and Qb7+ are as strong as Qd7+. So the answer is Qb7+! \text{Qb7+!} for a mate in three. The other options in the choices will end in mate in four, five or six.
