Take off

Classical Mechanics Level pending

An aeroplane requires for takeoff a speed of 80km/hr. the run on the ground being hundred meter . the mass of the plane is 10,000kg and the coefficient of friction between plane and ground is 0.2.assume that the plane accelerate uniformly during the takeoff.what is the minimum force required by its engine for takeoff ? (In NEWTON(N)).

initial velocity,u =0
final speed = 80 km/h = 80 5/18 m/s = 200/9 m/s
displacement, s = 100 m
let a be the acceleration produced, then using
v^2-u^2 = 2 as, we have
(200/9)^2 - (0)^2 = 2
a 100
a = 200
200/9 9 100 = 200/81 m/s ^ -2
force required = ma = (10,000) 200/81 N
force required to overcome friction,
f2 = mewN=mewmg
=0.2
10,000*9.8 N
total force = f1+f2 = 44291.3
