  • What is the temperature in X and in Y?
  • E.g. If the temperature in X is 1 and the temperature in Y is 2, write 12.

When the line is horizontal (i.e. it has a gradient of zero), there is a phase change. Is a well known fact that water boils at 100 ºC ((X)) and freezes at 0ºC. ((Y))
