a+3 = a+1 or, 1=3 thus it is not possible.

Nice Vaibhav. So, this was your first problem. Keep posting good problems. However, I think you should also use LaTex while writing variables or numbers that you want to highlight in your solutions as you have used in the question. They look attractive.....

We take the equation and subtract a from both sides and get 3=1 which is not possible.
