NEIGHBORS This is an example of Einstein's riddles. It is said that this quiz was made up by the famous physicist and according to him 98% will not solve it. There is a row of five different color houses. Each house is occupied by a man of different nationality. Each man has a different pet, prefers a different drink, and smokes different brand of cigarettes.
The Brit lives in the Red house. The Swede keeps dogs as pets. The Dane drinks tea. The Green house is next to the White house, on the left. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill. The man living in the centre house drinks milk. The Norwegian lives in the first house. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer. The German smokes Prince. The Norwegian lives next to the Blue house. The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour who drinks water. Who has fish at home? Are you one of the 2%?

The Norwegian lives in the first house. Since he lives next to the blue house and there is only one house next to the first house (i.e. second house), the blue house must be the second house.
The green house and the white house must be in a continuous row of two. We have yet to determine the colours of the first, third, fourth and fifth houses. We know the owner of the third house drinks milk but the green house owner drinks coffee, so the green house has to be the fourth house (with its owner drinking coffee) while the white house, the fifth.
The first house is either red or yellow. But if it is red, there is a contradiction as its owner is a Norwegian but the red house owner is a Brit. So the first house is yellow. It follows that the owner of the first house smokes Dunhill. In addition, this leaves the third house to be red. This also tells us that the owner of the third house is a Brit.
Since the owner of the first house smokes Dunhill, it follows that his only neighbour, or the owner of the second house, keeps horses (no pun intended haha)
The owner of the first house cannot drink milk (consumed by the third house owner) or coffee (consumed by the fourth house owner). He cannot drink beer as he would be smoking Blue Master but he smokes Dunhill. He cannot drink tea as that is consumed by the Dane but he is a Norwegian, leaving water for the first house owner. His only neighbour or the second house owner smokes Blends.
The second house owner drinks either tea or beer. If he drinks beer, there is a contradiction as he would be smoking Blue Master but he smokes Blends. He must be drinking tea so he must be a Dane. This leaves beer for the fifth house owner which means he smokes Blue Master.
The fifth house owner is either German or Swedish but if he is a German, he would be smoking Prince but he smokes Blue Master. So he is a Swede who keeps dogs. This leaves the fourth house owner to be German and he smokes Prince. We are left with only one type of cigar for the third house owner that is Pall Mall. So he rears birds.
The one who smokes Blends has 2 neighbours - the first house and third house owner, Since the third house owner rears birds, it must be the first house owner who rears cats. We have already determined the pets for the first, second, third and fifth house owners, so the only possible owner of the fish is the fourth house owner who is a G e r m a n .
